Wow! it’s a dense city…can we guess the human presence? I rather see them all cloistered in their homes… Covid obliges…! I rarely paid attention to these continuities and entanglements of lines that formed the roofs of a city! Yet I love to go to the highest point of a city to admire its roofs! Who hasn’t already done so? But then, what amazes us so much, and which leaves us admiring in front of such a view, is the general composition that we have in front of us, you think? Is it the fact of having all these lines that our mind imagines and gathers to give us this composition pleasing to the eye? or is it the feeling of being at the perfect distance, neither too far nor too close? or is it the feeling of being able to let our ideas wander about the occupations of the inhabitants?
Is it day? or night? I think I recognize the little chapel we passed by this morning! Yes, I can see it too…we realize how small the human being is when I see us next to it…and still, we don’t observe the sky! All these chimneys that rise into the sky…it’s beautiful. I think I could stop for more than a moment to admire each of these details…

Wouaw! c’est une ville dense..devines-t-on la présence humaine? Je les vois plutôt tous cloîtrés chez eux..Covid oblige..! je n’ai que rarement prêté attention à ces continuités et enchevêtrements de lignes que formaient les toits d’une ville! Pourtant j’adore me rendre au point le plus élevé des villes pour pouvoir en admirer les toits! Qui ne l’a pas déjà fait? Mais alors, ce qui nous époustoufle autant, et qui nous laisse admiratif devant une telle vue, c’est la composition générale que nous avons sous les yeux tu crois? Le fait d’avoir toutes ces lignes que notre esprit imagine et rassemble pour nous donner cette composition agréable à l’œil? ou est-ce le sentiment d’être à la distance parfaite, ni trop loin, ni trop près? ou pour pouvoir laisser nos idées vagabonder sur les occupations des habitants?
Il fait jour? ou nuit? Au fond là! je crois reconnaître la petite chapelle à côté de laquelle nous sommes passé ce matin! Oui je la vois aussi..on réalise comme l’humain est petit quand je nous revois à côté d’elle..et encore, nous n’observons pas le ciel! Toutes ces cheminées qui s’élancent dans le ciel..c’est beau. Je crois que je pourrais m’arrêter plus d’un instant pour admirer chacun de ces détails… Mais… attends moi!
